the power of greenery

An effective way to introduce a sense of calm and grounding into our homes is by incorporating greenery.

Plants not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of a space but also have numerous benefits for our physical and mental health.

In this blog, we'll explore the idea of bringing balance indoors through the inclusion of greenery, with a special focus on creative ways to display plants using water instead of traditional soil. Keeping it simple and easy.

Incorporating greenery into our homes allows us to reconnect with nature, fostering a sense of balance and harmony.

Many plants, such as pothos, spider plants, and philodendrons, can be propagated in water. Place cuttings in a vase or jar filled with water, and watch as roots develop.

It can be as easy as finding a few jars, vases, drinking glass, a juice bottle or a beer bottle.

I love gardening but my indoor game isn't great. With constant changes to the temperature, air and travel means sometimes plants aren't watered for quite a while. I have found using jars and water almost everything survives if not thrives.

So no more soil, pots and messy areas.

I encourage you to experiment with different plant varieties to find what works best with your style, space and home.

My top 3 favourite plants incase you want to jump into bunnings and grab something.

  • Pothos - cascading green leaf - there are over 15 different varieties with different patterning and colours.

  • Coleus- bright coloured, velvety and soft leaves. Over 100 species of coleus.

  • Monstera deliciosa - Large leaf with tropical feel. When taking a cutting it must have a node.

All of these will grow and survive for a period of time in water.
