I love when the crisp air rolls in and the leaves begin to turn. Seasons like autumn bring change in many ways, our homes, our fashion and the way we socialise.
This season is the perfect time to embrace warmth, texture and create some cosy spots.
Here are a few simple yet impactful ways to refresh your home and welcome the change in season.
1. layer in cosy
Swap out those lightweight summer fabrics for richer, more tactile materials. Think chunky knit throws, plush cushions and soft wool or velvet textures to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. Layering textures not only adds depth but also makes your space feel instantly moody and cosy!
2. bring in warm, earthy tones
Autumn’s colour palette is rich and inviting—this year we are seeing deep maroon and burgundy, soft neutrals, greens and yellows and golds really taking charge. Small updates like a throw cushion, throw blanket or a rich coloured vase will help add some warmth as the seasons change.

3. refresh your tablescape
I am a huge fan of having a table setting and using colours, textures on your table.
Enjoy your daily meals by setting the table with seasonal elements makes every moment feel special. Swap out bright summer florals for dried arrangements, add textured linens, and bring in wooden or ceramic serve ware to enhance the autumn aesthetic. A few well-placed candles can also create a cosy ambiance for evening meals.
4. lighting for comfort
As the daylight fades earlier, thoughtful lighting becomes essential. Adding warm-toned bulbs, candles and layered lighting with table and floor lamps to create a soft, welcoming glow. Smart lighting is a big help here using timers and colour options to get it right.
Embracing the transitional season of autumn is about more than just décor—it’s about shifting into a mindset of warmth, reflection, and comfort.
